Aquí Mismo. En Este Momento

We came from different places.
Two different roads,
Two different countries,
Two different histories,
Our two paths, once diverged, came together.
A beautiful moment, intersected, where love bloomed.

From two vastly different backgrounds.
Within that moment, all I saw was a future as one.
We knew each other’s story.
We knew each other’s words.
We felt each other’s hope, determination, and dedication.
We could not hear, we could not feel, we could not concede.
For we were lost in translation.

To get where we were there was the most epic of journeys.
To get where we are it has been the most epic of journeys.

There was no way I could say it.
No way that you could hear it.
No way it could be read.
No way that I could make you see it.
No way that you could say it.
No way we would ever see it from the same point of view.

In that moment, and the moments beyond, we have been lost in translation.

Words spoken, words written, words shared with each other are not universal.
The feeling, the being, the holding of love within your heart is universal.
When love is true, when the heart beats as one, there’s no other meaning.
The language of hurt causes a second glance, a moment of distrust.

Love/amor, juntos/together, heart/corizon.
And still, we were lost in translation.
Spanish to English, español a ingles, and back and forth.
When we stood together,
We did not know where we stood together.

If I could communicate to you now,
how it really was,
how I really felt,
how I really saw you.

Would you ever know?
Would you ever know?
It was truthful that it was my heart for you.
That I truly believed your love was for me.

We were lost in translation.
We have always been lost in that translation

Timeless. Yes.
Eterno. Si.

And still, we have been lost to the ages.
We have been lost in translation time and time again.

We hurt each other together.
We hurt each other apart.
And now I hurt, here, alone.
Now that we are apart.

There are things I didn’t know.
There are lessons I should have learned.
Learned of languages and lessons of love.

Wishing as I do,
that you would see things anew,
of all the things I could undo,
I would not change a moment of me loving you.
