Faster Stillness

When we come into life, it’s been said we scream “Giddy Up!” And go out screaming “Whoa!”

In our youth, always saying “Let’s go.” In those later years, holding one’s hand saying “Please don’t let go.”

A life lived in measures of zero to sixty, at the end praying more for infinity.

So many moments wishing that never end, when lived long enough you lose one by one so many a friend.

Time does march right on and so many great memories we stand upon.

Love finds a way to carry us through all of the lifetimes of not knowing what to do.

Hands raised high in triumph and when shoulders slumped low and feeling blue.

Onward we always have to press, expecting a good life, accepting no less.

Every step forward a win.

Every new challenge met with a confident grin.

So many tomorrows remain, so many yesterdays in pain, only today’s moments we can never regain.
