Soliloquy

No matter how,

much you felt,

you were unloved,

This was evident,

from the start.

I lost you,

When my eyes closed.

I lost you,

when you left my side.

I lost you,

No matter how much I held on,

And I tried.

Who could take it all back?

For a moment,

in all the attacks,

tragic and symbolic,

lost to the pain,

the internet and the game.

The way you kept,

on pushing me,

towards and away,

promoted, antagonized,

tortured, and scorched,

the earth beneath our feet.

Tossed onto the rocks below,

left feeling more,

than out of control,

still growing in my soul,

a hopeful love,

a faithful resolution.

In the face of my own,

fear, uncertainty, and doubt,

sunshine on my face,

I showed your ghost the way out,

reminded me at once,

an all too familiar place.

The last place we saw it,

where we left it,

where we found it,

what we thought of a lifetime,

a lifetime of love.
